Customer Solution Architect


Headquartered in Belgium, with branches worldwide, our client is a leading company in Additive Manufacturing (AM) solutions related to 3D printers and AM-related technology. 

Toelichting vacature: 

The customer solutions architect is part of the software engineering group.

  • You are the pre- and post-sales technical owner of software solutions deployed at key customers;
  • You are the direct link between the key customers and the software engineering group;
  • You build deep relationships with key customer’s senior technical individuals to enable them to be our client's advocates;
  • You participate in solution driven discussion during meetings/calls with those customers;
  • You will be involved by account management whenever an “off the shelf” product is not sufficient for a specific customer;
  • You are in close contact with the customer to learn what they need (by visiting them) and you list both their business needs as well as their technical expectations. Based on this input and your knowledge of the portfolio and competencies you design a customer solution architecture that will be validated by the Market manager, the Engineering director and portfolio architect;
  • You are responsible for defining and documenting this architecture, capturing and documenting non-functional (architectural) requirements, preparing estimates and defining technical solutions to proposals (RFPs);
  • Whenever custom development is required, you are responsible for translating the expected technical solution to the functional analysts / project manager and the involved architects within the engineering group;
  • You will follow up the progress of the “solution” that is being built and act as a technical SPOC between the customer and the engineering team;
  • In cooperation with the project manager you are responsible for the correct implementation and delivery of the solution at the customer, and the handover of knowledge and information regarding this solution to the support teams. You remain a technical SPOC for the customer and the client's support teams throughout the customer solution life cycle.
  • You have excellent communication skills:
    • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers;
    • Strong written communication skills in English;
    • High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations;
  • Ideal candidates will preferably have 7 plus years IT industry or IT technical sales related to experience with a proven track record of solution sales expertise;
  • You have significant experience with executive presence and a proven ability to lead and facilitate meetings and workshops.
  • You have deep knowledge of software development lifecycle and development pipeline (idea to production);
  • Hands-on knowledge of database structure and software architecture;
  • Hands-on experience with Relational Database Systems (In our case Microsoft SQL Server);
  • Hands-on experience with UML modelling;
  • You’re willing to travel;
  • A broad general knowledge of IT technologies like (but not limited to):
    • OSI networking model,
    • Xml and its derived standards,
    • Microsoft server-based technologies: Windows Server, Active Directory etc.
